Post-doctoral trainee

Dr. Elise Roger (Neuropsychologist, Ph.D.) obtained her PhD. in cognitive neuroscience of language at the Laboratory of Psychology and NeuroCognition (LPNC) of the University of Grenoble Alpes, in France. During her doctoral studies, she contributed to the development of innovative functional neuroimaging protocols for the study of language (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11682-020-00355-x) as well as to the creation of an open fMRI database including 150 participants evaluated on various language protocols (https://osf.io/6xm8n/). She has also developed statistical and theoretical models of the anatomo-functional organization of language, in interaction with other cognitive functions, both in neurotypical functioning and in patients with neurological disorders.

Currently, as a post-doctoral student under the direction of Dr. Yves Joanette (University of Montreal, Research Center of the University Institute of Geriatrics of Montreal), she focuses on neurocognitive health and communication in older adults. His postdoctoral project aims to develop advanced and innovative methods for multimodal processing of neuroimaging and cognitive data, with the aim of determining relevant neurocognitive markers of aging and neurodegenerative diseases. It exploits recent artificial intelligence methods to promote precision personalized neuropsychology and is part of the Open Science movement. Her postdoctoral work is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Fonds de recherche du Québec en Santé (FRQS) as well as the Pan-Canadian AGE-WELL network, where she is now an HQP (Highly Qualified Personnel) member ) specializing in AgeTech solutions for the complex healthcare needs of older adults.
